With the ability to deliver up to 30,000 customer orders per day, the new Fresh Direct facility is equipped with the latest technology and food safety procedures. The shape of the building allows all 639,000 square feet to be utilized efficiently. A large 2 story glazed entryway is all clad in white insulated metal panel exterior. A 45,000 square foot interior on one side contains a commissary, offices, and bakery.

The warehouse has a highly automated, vertically formatted material handling system that encompasses most the warehouse portion of the building to process many orders.

A multi-level system was designed to utilize the building’s height for transporting totes and cartons throughout the core and shell. At almost 10 miles and 132,000 square foot of conveyors, This machine runs through elevated work platforms and mechanical mezzanines.
