Outgrowing their 192,933 square foot facility in Hunts Point, Bronx, NY, a 131,500 square foot expansion was designed and constructed for Baldor Specialty Foods (BSF) to connect seamlessly into existing operations. To obtain appropriate approvals, we presented the project to NYCEDC to lease the Halleck Industrial Parcel at the referenced project site. As a result, the 9.54-acre site was awarded to BSF. As a result of the design and construction process, the expansion has increased distribution facility by 56,000 square foot refrigerated storage, 25,000 square foot office space, and 68 loading docks.
Designed in phases to keep BSF in operation and working during construction, a temporary dock was built. Upon the completion and sign-off of the Phase 1 north side expansion, and 32 new loading docks, the remaining existing docks and temporary dock were dismantled to allow Phase 2 to be completed.
